All classes are held in our new, fully equipped Capalaba studio, where students of all ages and abilities train together.

The Lam Tu Luan Kung Fu School offers individual and family packages. You can also choose to pay a 1 month, 3 month, 6 month or yearly subscription. Or, if paying as you go suits you best, then that’s fine too.
The Chinese concept of yin and yang describes exactly how seemingly opposite forces may actually be interconnected. Kung Fu is similar because it works on the principle that our minds and bodies each exert a great influence on the other.

Today, Kung Fu is still a highly respected method of self defence and is an effective way to give individuals of all ages a true sense of confidence in their personal safety.Sifu Luan, master of the Lam Tu Luan Kung Fu School, specialises in teaching Jow Ga, one of the most popular and practical fighting styles of this ancient form of martial arts.
Incorporating elements of both southern and northern Chinese Shaolin styles, Jow Ga combines speed and power with the grace and beauty of flowing circular movements.
Safety of the individual is a key focus of the Lam Tu Luan Kung Fu School. The techniques and movements are very powerful, but Kung Fu practitioners should not use their skills to attack another person.
Rather, they should be used as a form of self-defence.When you know you can defend yourself, you can live without fear.
When you combine the many movements of traditional Kung Fu with modern-day equipment and learning techniques it results in a really focused all-over body workout that increases endurance and muscle strength.
When you join a class, you’ll recognise many familiar exercises similar to those you’ll see in a gym. By incorporating these with Kung Fu style movements, you achieve more flexibility and move with heightened grace and discipline, conditioning your body as a whole.
And, because Jow Ga Kung Fu has its origins in the Shaolin style, there are mental and emotional advantages to training that address the ‘fitness’ level of your mind.
